Portraits of you, your family or friends for birthdays or special occasions

This was where I started. In pencil, then ink and now in colour. I try to capture the essence of my subject, not just the look. Everyone is unique and I try to emphasise this. Their individuality, their personalities. The contours, the highlights, the hair.

The portraits of the Brazilian family were taken from two separate photos as there wasn’t a picture of the husband and wife with the daughter. Careful planning was necessary to blend the picture into a coherent one.
